1911年，阪田久五郎在吳市稻荷町創立寫樂鋼筆品牌的前身「阪田製作所」，製造了日本首支14K金尖鋼筆。之後Sailor逐漸發展，21K金筆尖與長刀研系列鋼筆享負盛名，成為世界知名的鋼筆品牌。Sailor由這個小小的港口城市啟航，將日本的製筆工藝與美學發揚光大，船錨商標也成了品牌最鮮明的標記。
