本年度的Pelikan M1000 螺鈿蒔繪系列鋼筆名為「市松」，是指日本傳統文樣的格子紋，源自江戶時代的歌舞伎演員佐野川市松登台時的服飾，有着雙色方格相互交錯如棋盤般排列的設計。不論是出自喜多川歌麿之手的「吹玻璃笛的女子(ビードロを吹く娘)」，或是東京奧運2020的會徽或《鬼滅之刃》炭治郎與禰豆子的服飾，歷久常新的市松紋在不同時代都能引起一陣風潮。相連不間斷的市松圖案亦有繁榮、發展等吉祥寓意。

｜美麗光澤背後的精湛螺鈿工藝｜
螺鈿來自夜光貝或鮑貝的珍珠質部分，經磨石磨平成一定厚度的薄片。螺鈿會以鑲嵌或黏貼的方式固定在漆塗表面，在光的照射下呈現貝殼的多彩光澤。
「市松」一筆採用澳洲產的鮑貝，取其帶有亮綠色光澤的部分再切割成長條螺鈿。筆桿塗上鮮艷的朱漆，再以人手逐片貼上螺鈿形成市松圖案，灑以銀粉點綴。職人遂除去螺鈿表面沾上的銀粉，為整支筆塗上保護層後再打磨數遍，接著以蒔繪技法畫上編號和署名並添上金粉。經過最後的上漆和打磨步驟，光彩亮麗的「市松」鋼筆才正式誕生。

Pelikan M1000 Raden Red Infinity Fountain Pen

This year’s Pelikan M1000 Raden series fountain pen “Red Infinity” is named “Ichimatsu” in Japanese, after the traditional Japanese pattern of checkered squares. The design originated from the clothing worn by a Kabuki actor Sanogawa Ichimatsu during the Edo period. Whether it’s the “Woman with a Vidro(ビードロを吹く娘)” by Kitagawa Utamaro, or the Tokyo 2020 Olympics emblem and the costumes of Tanjiro and Nezuko from “Demon Slayer”, the timeless Ichimatsu pattern has always been a popular trend in different eras.

The continuous checkered pattern also has auspicious meanings such as prosperity and growth, and the beautiful shine behind it is the result of exquisite Raden craftsmanship.

“Red Infinity” is made with particles from the Australian abalone shell. The pen barrel is coated with bright red Japanese Urushi lacquer, and the Raden is hand-applied piece by piece to create the Ichimatsu pattern, sprinkled with silver powder for decoration. The craftsman then removes the silver powder on the surface of the Raden, applies a protective layer to the entire pen, and polishes it several times. Finally, using the Maki-e technique, the pen is individually numbered and signed with gold powder.
