珊瑚 Coral <象徵：幸福、治癒、能量提升>
在中世紀的歐洲，珊瑚象徵「幸福」，可以驅散惡靈，守護事物。珊瑚亦源自有生命之源之稱的海洋，相傳有着「治癒」的力量，可以增強生命力，提升身心的能量。

藍寶石 Sapphire <象徵：高貴、崇高、慈愛>
深邃美麗的藍色象徵「看見事物真相的眼」，在古希臘和中世紀時代更被用於治療眼疾。有說藍寶石具有使人看清「真相」的力量，代表誠實高貴，亦可以平靜人心。

“Bijou” means jewel in French. “Wajima Bijou” is a sophisticated gem designed to reflect the skilled handwork of the craftman as well as the beauty of jewelry.

Traditional arts and crafts can be found in every region of Japan. Especially popular, is the technique of “Urushi-nuri”, Lacquer Coating, and examples of this lacqureware can be found throughout Japan.

“Wajima-nuri” is a form of lacqureware produced in Wajima-city, Ishikawa Prefecture which can be dated back to the Heian-era. To acknowledge the skilled work of Wajima-nuri maki-e craftman, Sailor has launched the “Wajima Bijou” fountain pen which has been designed with jewelry in mind.

The colored lacquer is applied repeatedly to the concave surface, and polished out to even surface. The body is given a traditional lacquer glazing technique called “Roiro”, which makes it shine like a jewel (Bijou).
